DON’T SETTLE FOR LESS

Just a short one for today. One afternoon, my long time friend visited me and I was so pleased to see her after a long time. I offered her a drink and made her comfortable then we got talking. I listened to her with apt attention as she told me about how her past relationships ended up and left her broken; she was now bent on marrying any kind of man that came her way because she was advancing in age and her parents were on her neck.

I’d refer more to our ladies. As a woman with a purpose to fulfil and a child of God, you ought not to settle for less. If you know that you’d compromise your core values and your relationship with God because of your relationship with a guy then there’s no point entering the relationship in the first place. Don’t settle for a man who has not found God but wants to find you. A man who wants you should be sensible enough to know that you’re hidden in God and in order to find you he first has to find God. Do not rush into relationship or into marriage because age is no longer on your side. You might just ruin things. Remember that it’s better to remain single than to spend the rest of your life with the wrong person. It’ll be living in hell even while on earth. If a man does not lead you to Christ but to sin please don’t settle for him. There are many good men out there but not all will be suitable for you. Go for someone who supports your purpose, passion; one who encourages you to become a better version of yourself and sees your worth. Do not rush into marriage because of parental pressure. They won’t live with you and your husband in the house ooo. And to our parents, please stop pressuring your children into getting married instead prayerfully support them. Do not push them into regret.

May God help us never to settle for less. God bless you

Your relationship and marriage coach,

Chiamaka Opara
